A friend has a fixed carry handle AR.  He's looking for long range scope and mount to use with it.  Any suggestions? I told him to get a flat top upper but he doesn't want that to spend the money on a new upper and a scope.

I believe he's looking for a variable with at least up to 10 power if not higher.

How much does he want to spend?  How far is long range?

You will not go wrong with Leupold VXIII, Bushnell Elite 4200, Nikon Monarch or Weaver Grand Slam.  All very nice glass.
