I think the proportions found on an 18" barrel'd upper are downright attractive. I sure would appreciate it if some of you folks would show 'em if you gottum!

Thanx,

Gunz

Shoot me an E-mail at [email protected]. I have pics of my Spr upper in Olive Drab that Steve at Adco Firearms did. I would host it, but every time I try to host pictures it doesn't work. I have tried Lots and Lots of times!!! Adco does one heck of a job...Very Very nice work.

Those are ARMS #22 rings with ARMS tactical ring cap, or something like that.

Of course, I'm not THAT Steve, but I'm going to guess that's a Burris Fullfield II with illuminated ballistic plex.  Am I close BB?

If that's what it is, I'd love to hear how you like the illumination, since I understand it's only got 2 settings.  (Feel free to IM so's I don't hijack this thread alltogether.... )

I've got a non-illuminated version, and I'm quite pleased with it, but would prefer the lighted reticle, if it works well.

Scoop I love the set up, did you cut the foam out yourself? is it a starlight or a pelican case?

Well, just to be different since most 18's seem to be SPR's (like mine) I stripped mine down.  I really like it without all the gear, I think it still looks cool without it.

Thanks.  The case is a Pelican 1700.  I cut the foam myself with an electric bread knife.  The rifle was built by George Gardner at GA Precision.  Upper & bolt are Armalite,  barrel is a 1x8 twist from Schnieder, lower is Bushmaster with a Jard trigger.  Obviously, the scope is a departure from the SPR realm, but I wanted a little more magnication than 9X so I could wring out all the accuracy possible from George's creation.  Optics are Leupold 4.5x14x50 LR M1 Mildot and rings are #22 highs.  The most interesting part of this rifle is the Gen 1 PRI Handguard.  It is from the original run of 150.  When I decided to build an SPR, there were no Gen 1 tubes available.  After much begging, Dave ended up selling me this one off his own rifle.  Like all of the 1st run tubes, it is about .030 oversize, so the bottom of the ARMS rail had to be radiused (Which Dave did himself) so that it would lay down flat.  Dave is super nice to deal with and I highly recommend his products.  Of course, George did a great job putting it all together.  With Black Hills 77 gr SMK's, the rifle shoots consistently under 1/2 moa with a cold barrel and stays between 1/2 and 3/4 moa once the barrel heats up.  To say I'm pleased with it would be an understatement.

Thanks GM. Most of these pieces came from Wes at MSTN. I like both stocks a lot.  I like the looks of the Crane a little better and the cheek weld on both is far better than the earlier stlyes.

AK_Mike, (see photo several post above)
I like to do the same thing with mine. It is surprising how light and almost nimble they feel this way. Sometimes I put an Aimpoint on it and "plink". These Mk12s from Wes are fantastic!

Mine feels nice too.  7.6 pounds empty with excellent balance.  Just a touch heavier than an M16A2 but with a lot more capability.
