I've seen in various manuals that LSA is used to clean the M16.  What exactly is LSA, and is it still used by our forces?  How does it compare to CLP?

LSA, CLP, SOL... too many TLAs for me.

Its Lubricant Semi-Fluid. It lubes and protects. Before CLP we used BC (bore cleaner) in combination with LSA. Now we just use CLP for everything.

I prefer LSA over CLP personally.

I thought it stood for Lubricant, Small Arms.  Anyway, it's the only lube I use on all my firearms.
