What is different about the ammo you buy from like ammoman compared to ammo that is issued to the military? What’s involved in the “dismantling” process?
5.56 55 grain that is.

Thanks

The Federal XM193 and Winchester Q3131A (like from ammoman) are not remanufactured.  They are new production ammunition and are loaded to the same specifications using the same brass, powder and bullets as the military-issue M193 NATO standard.

The rounds are also in cartons, not on stripper clips/bandoliers, that would be the main difference between this ammunition and that issued in combat.  This packing style (cartons) is sometimes referred to as 'range ammo', because that is how it would be handed out at the range for training.

Remanufactured ammunition has had the bullets pulled, the powder removed, and then is put back together.

Firing remanufactured ammunition will void some rifle manufacturers' warranties.
