Hey, Bought a KNIGHT SR-15 M-4. Did I make a good purchase? Anybody else have one?

It's a nice rifle, but just a little overpriced.

Cue discussion of expensive additional accessories included with the Knight's SR-15 and how adding those same accessories to a Bushmaster, etc. would make the Knight's rifle cheaper...

I have one.  Nicest AR I have, and I have/had Colt, Bushmaster, and RRA.  You'll enjoy it.

since it comes with the rail that makes it a pretty good deal. i'd buy one over the custom made rifles (baer, wilson)

I also bought the SR-15 M4 a couple of weeks ago. Still waiting for it to arrive. Should of went with the 2 day express. With all the added features It seemed like a deal to me. Also live just 15 miles from the factory. Pics to follow soon.

Very nice rifle but with a cheap barrel.  Should be chromed lined at the price point where this AR sells.  Still a very nice rig.

The Knight's barrel may not be chrome-lined; but it sure isn't cheap. It is a high-grade match barrel (and so isn't chrome lined).

Roger that. Mine shoot like a house afire. Put one up against a 16" Bushy and see which one takes the prize.

I'm always willing to learn.  From what material is the SR-15 M4 high-grade match barrel made and who is the barrel supplier ??

I believe the SR15 Match uses a stainless steel Krieger barrel; but whoever makes it, it can shoot.

Maybe coldblue will weigh in on barrel and materials.

The SR-15 Match is a stainless Krieger barrel, and they shoot great (well below MOA).  The standard Sr-15 use non free-floated chrome moly barrels and shoot like a good AR should...

I'm well aware of the barrel on the SR-15 Match, however, you questioned my post regarding the barrel on the SR-15 M4 - not the SR-15 Match.

I believe you'll find the barrel is chrome moly on the $1400 SR-15 M4.  That is the same barrel used by ArmaLite on their AR-180B at $650.  I say again, the SR-15 M4 is a nice package but at that price point ($1400) the barrel should be chrome lined.

5sub

Edited to add:  I guess I should have stated that I presently own an SR-15 M4 and have owned the SR-15 Match as well as a couple or three SR-25's.  I'm primarily an ArmaLite guy but do not close my mind to other good weapons.
