A new EBR is born! My new baby is finally done. It took a few months but it was worth the wait. Well as you can see this is my first post. You guessed it I’m new to the AR weapon platform. I have shot several but this is my first build, Thanks to the info I got from AR15.com. Yes I can call it a build, I put the lower together as well as the upper, all by myself. I had no real problems with the build, other then the wait for the funds and the parts.

Wilson Combat Lower
Wilson Combat Upper
Bushmaster lower parts kit
Bushmaster Ambi Safety
Bushmaster 16" fluted barrel, chrome lined, 1/9 H Bar 5.56
Bushmaster Bolt and carrier
Bushmaster Charging Handle
Bushmaster Gas Tube (car)
Vltor Stock
Vltor Buffer tube and buffer w/ spring
Tango down Battle Grip
Tango down Front Vertical Grip
Troy rear folding sight
YHM Light Weight Free Float tube
YHM end cap
YHM Front Folding Sight/ Gas Block
YHM-28A Phantom Flash Suppressor
USGI 30 Round mags with magpul's inside and out

Things to come
EOTech 552(AA) or 553(cr123A) depending on mounting options
Scope w/ quick detach rings (arms #22 high)
Good weapon light
Rear sling plate for single point sling (troy sling)
Lots of spent brass!! !

Well I went to the range yesterday and shot up almost 400 rounds. The sights needed 6 clicks to the left and the 5th round was a FTF, Pulled back the CH and let it go and it chambered with out any other problems. I’m going to clean it soon and then go make it dirty again. I have a good amount of spare parts and tools needed to build and maintain the new kid on the block.

I know how AR get lonely and half way into this build I started thinking about the next build.

Any info on how to post pics would be appreciated.

Welcome to the family.

As mentioned above, unless you post pics, WE DON'T BELIVE YOU!

I do believe there is a thread on how to post pics, if you do a search never mind, here it is. I hope this helps.

Very nice... Similar to a rifle that I'm working on. Question for you though, where did you get your Wilson Combat parts?

The only things that are Wilson Combat are the upper receiver and the lower... I got them from Wolson Combat. find a local  FFL and just get one.

Stay clear of that reciever.
it's CAST.
Note the raised lettering?
That is a sure sign of a cast reciever.
Forged recievers will have either stamped or machined markings, but certainly not raised markings.

The markings look like they were etched into the reciever.  They don't look raised at all to me.

Edited to add:  Yep, I'm sure of it: look at the shadow from the mag release fence... it's on the right of the fence, so anything else that is raised should have shadows falling in the same way.  If you look at the lettering, the shadows are on the opposite (left) side, indicating a depression.

+1
Also, it is Wilson Combat.
I highly doubt they would sell anything cast.
