The "notch" sight is for ~ 500 to 600 meters when the larger ghost ring sight is zeroed for ~ 250 to 300 yards per ARMs.

If you zeroed at 50 yards with the large aperture, the small aperture should be zeroed for approx 300m. The notch at the top should be fairly close to 600m. But keep in mind that these are [b]backup[/b] sights, and will probably only need to be used with the large aperture.

Is there a difference in the aiming point between the large and small appearture (a 50 yard first crossing should be close to 300 yard zero / second crossing of the line of sight).

Yes, there is a difference in height between the apertures, so flipping from one to the other will change your zero. In the ideal world, you would zero at 300m with the small aperture with your carry load. This will give you a very flat trajectory from 25-250m using the large aperture, or if shooting at 300m, you flip back to the small aperture.
Since most people don't have access to a 300m range, zeroing with the large aperture at 50 yards will get you pretty close to the same zero with most loads. -Troy |

Don't the instructions say to zero with the SMALL aperture and -2 clicks ? If you need the large aperture, you're supposed to return back to 8/3 for "patrolling", but the zeroing is supposed to be done with the small aperture.
