Did a search and can't find any info...

Have an acquaintance that wants to trade me an ACOG TA31F for two hunting rifle scopes. I only got a quick once over on it due to being at work, but he's bringing it back by for me to look over in more detail.

Any particular signs to look for in identifying a fake? Do any of the known fakes out there actually have the Trijicon logo on them? I noticed the fiber optic along the top had a slight crack, but it did indeed illuminate the reticle. Going to look at it in the dark this week to make sure reticle glows. The glass was very very clear...don't know if the fakes are or not? The body and base also appeared to have a number of casting marks, and the black color seamed glossy.

Any info would be greatly appreciated!

EDIT: I would think that you should be able to call Trijicon and give them the serial number and they should be able to tell you???

Thanks! That was pretty helpful, and it's a great start for me. The model, s/n, and NSN are cast into this model in question. I saved the authenticity link to Trijicon and may contact them...

Do all ACOG's, particularlly the model questioned in this thread, all have NSN identification numbers?

Replica

Look on the top where the two parts are screwed together, NO serial number

REAL Ones...

You can barely see the serial, by the top adjustment. I don't think I've seen a fake one with a serial number.
