Just took it out of storage to install a Magpul 93A to celerate the end of the AWB.  The receiver looked "dry" and chalky.  I applied a light coat of oil, and for most of the receiver, it reblackened the finish, but parts of it turned white.  White came off with a little touch of the hand.

So... How do you keep your lowers nice and black?

Mine turns white after I degrease it. I have to then apply oil/CLP all over it and it stays black till I shoot it again.

CLP evaporates very quickly; I use Mobil1 for a lot of my tasks now, it seems to stick around longer.
