Well, all I really want to know is...is the point of impact always where the red dot is EVEN if you're aiming it such that the dot is near the edge of the cirlce field of view, as opposed to having the red dot in the center?

Yes - it is completely paralax free.  You can hold the rifle at arms length and move it so that the dot is on the edge of the sight, and the gun is pointed where the dot is.

acually... there is slight paralax... but its hardly anything... and really its only anything until about 50m... then its nothing....

if you have a gun that setup with an aimpoint... the small amount of paralax isn't going to matter with that perticular weapon system.
