Is there a way to tell whether your barrel is chrome lined or chromed moly.  the reason i am asking is because i was looking at a RRA ar15 rifle on gunbroker and i asked the seller whether it is chrome lined or chrome moly.  he responded with "not sure, is there a way to tell"?

Go to the "Industry" section and the RRA listing.  The first sticky there is a list of their barrel codes.
