What is the best source for Hornady TAP 5.56 ammo? I am especially looking for the 60 and 75 grain types.

Thanks in advance!!

Call Hornady and order it direct from the LE sales division. I know of no other way to order it unless someone starts making money selling individual boxes in the EE. There is no 5.56 pressure 60 grain just 75 grain. You dont want the 60 grain as it underpenetrates.

If I recall correctly the catalog number for the Hornady 5.56 75-gr TAP is: 8126N have
The Hornady TAP in either the red or black boxes are .223 and NOT 5.56. hinking.gif

Ahh. Got it. I just glossed over the whole .223/5.56 thing there didn't I. Is there a difference ballistically between the two? I realize 5.56 and .223 are slightly different, but for those of us with rifles that will chamber both, is there any reason I should long for the 5.56?

ETA: I just ordered a couple hundred rounds of the .223 75 gr TAP and now I am curious.

Just an additional 150 fps. They dont do anything else neat like seal the primers or anything.
