I have been following this forum for a while but just now registered.  I am doing my first AR build using a Model 1 Sales M4 kit on an Olympic lower.  Everything was going great until I put the bolt catch spring and detent in.  The detent went all the way in and is now stuck.  Short of drilling this sucker out (which will be tonight if I don't find a better way) is there a way to pull it back out?

I tried the tapping thing but it didn't budge.  Didn't hurt the finish and I didn't tap hard enough to bend anything.  The magnet wouldn't pull it either.

I think the drill press is in order.  It may take a little time to set the jig but it should work OK.
