Greetings all, I am in the process of completing my build. some info on her, Eagle Arms lower, Armalite LPK, Milspec buffer tube with Magpul CTR stock, BCM mid length upper with La Rue 9"  handguard, Gunfighter C handle with LMT BCG, ARMS rear flip up. I will be adding some goodies to the rails IE red dot and flashlight. Now with all that my weapon already feels kinda top heavy and out of balance. I read an article where Pat Rogers reccomends a hevier stock for a midlength like a MagPul UBR or VLTOR. The CTR stock I have is light as a feather but the mentioned stocks are very pricey. Does anyone have reccomendations on how to achieve a good balance for a rig like mine. Thanks all

I put a sopmod stock on all my 14.5" and longer barreled guns that I run a suppressor on. A CTR would be fine on them while they are unsuppressed, but with the extra length and weight out over the front of the gun that the can creates, a sopmod really helps to even things out for me. I'm sure a UBR would be even better because I believe that it is heavier yet than a sopmod. This situation is discussed briefly in THIS thread as well. You could put your CTR on the EE to recup. some money and put it towards a new one. This way you won't be out the full amount

I like the SOPMOD for my railed midlengths but I haven't tried the ACS or EMod yet.  You can find some good deals if you pay attention to the EE.

Glad to see I'm not the only one who finds balance to be even more important then overall weight. Keep in my stock selection is only part of what you need to consider for weight in the rear. Proper buffer selection can help too. My 14.5" carbines have Colt 9mm buffers installed which helps both in balancing the weapon out and with recoil control. For 16" middy's, I've found that an A1 length fixed stock with a standard "rifle" buffer is just about perfect.
