One of the hex bolts on the bolt carrier key broke. The top half fell out, and the bottom half is stuck in the threads. What do I do now, I don't really want buy another bolt carrier.

Please help me.

I would have pictures, but I don't know how, and too lazy to figure out.

If you can get the other bolt out, take the key off and maybe if you have enough thread use some vise grips. Next would be gun smith and he might try to ez out the bolt, or buy new carrier. good luck

Well take the other one out and have someone at a machine shop to tap it out for U, or go buy the extraction tool and do it yourself. Or call the manufacture of the gun and see if they can just replace it for U.

Local Hardware store should have EZ Outs, and as the name implies they are quite EZ to use.

Thanks for you help. I guess I'll try and mess with it, and if it goes badly, I'll have to spend another $100.

Don't know the details of the rifle, but this would also be a good idea. Especially if it's still under warranty, or if it's from a well known supplier that's very customer friendly.

Defenitely try the free route first.  Worst case scenario, buy another bolt/carrier and you have a spare bolt.

I had this same thing happen to my Bushmaster.  The rifle was well out of warranty.  I called them up and they fixed it for me at no charge.  Call the company that made your rifle...  you never know what may happen...
