Thanks, I find it odd the barrel is unmarked. I found it interesting that it has a cast FSB and came on a cast lower. From what I have read Essential arms did not sell complete rifles....only lowers. The guy I bought it from thought it was all EA.
I just noticed there is a retro forum....mods please move if I posted this in the wrong area. And I'm sorry. |

Quoted:
Cast FSB could be Olympic Arms. Olympic marked their barrels in front of the FSB with 556, 556 SS, etc. Olympic did and does make nice barrels. However, none I have ever encountered used roll pins for the FSB. The only place that did back in the day (80-90's) was NESARD. They used the cheapest, seconds, out of spec or worn out surplus they could to sell their parts kits. The fact that this came on an Essential Arms lower pretty much confirms this for me as E.A had the cheapest lowers in the day and the "Frugal" (uninformed) builders bought these. NESARD kits were a crap shoot and many would be builders wondered why theirs wouldn't run right. YMMV. Wpns Man |

Wpns Man There were a lot of gun-show kits that had the FSB pinned in place with roll pins back in the days. @ OP, upper appears to be pieced together from commercial and/or surplus parts.

Just like today, 99% of those selling AR parts at gunshows don't make anything on their tables regardless of what they tell you. Wpns Man |
| i think for your original question as to how to list it... i would list it as a mixmaster heavy barreled A1 upper. and let the pictures tell the story.. builders will buy it just to build.. retro guys will buy it to get the A1 parts and sell off what they don't want.. |
