My first post and I am very glad to be here.  It looks like I will learn alot from this site!  I have wanted an AR type rifle for some time now but have talked myself out of it for various reasons, usually because of not having the money.  I have never owned a firearm but have always felt very strongly about the right to bear arms.  Recently I have grown terribly concerned about the fate of our second ammendment rights.  I guess I figure that I better get an AR soon before they are outlawed.  In addition a friend of mine is a firearms enthusiast and has taken me along to the range a number of times.  BIG FUN!!!

As I stated before I do not currently own a firearm, but that is about to change!  I've bought a few books about AR type rifles and have pretty much made a decision to go with a Stag Arms rifle.  Hopefully some time in the not to distant future I will be building my own.

If anybody would be willing to let me know of any good AR retailers and/or gunsmiths in the St. Louis, MO area, it would be greatly appreciated.  Thank you

The dealer/rifle builder dennysguns is in KC. You can find him on the Equipment Exchange. He's a great guy to deal with.

if you haven't been around guns much, get some instruction. learn to handle them safely. a hunters education course is a start, and relatively cheap. have fun. i'd recommend a good .22 as a first gun, but like you said, get an AR just to be on the safe side.
