They say that their kits are made from the current goverment contractor, FN.

Total BS.  What's most likely is that some of the major components are made by companies that also hppen to subcontract for FN---which ain't quite the same thing.

FN is prohibited, under the terms of their government contract, from producing or selling any M16/AR parts on the civilian market.  Now you will occasionally find one or two barrels, or bolt assemblies or what have you on the civilian market w/ FN markings; but these were govt issued spares that were deemed surplus by a govt disposal officer; and one or two pieces at a time does not fit into a company's production plans.

By the way, that web site is currently non existant, according to yahoo's search engine

Their prices are a bit high, it doesn't look like their kits are any better than the other suppliers.

Here's a good source for a Rock River lower receiver:

Looks like they are using pictures from the Model 1 website.

I think the "teflon coating" and  "government contractor" (not FN) is the tip off that it's a DPMS kit. To my knowledge, no one else teflon coats their stuff---certainly not the government.  DPMS stuff isn't bad---but it ain't great either. Bought a complete lower of theirs last year, and only had to replace 3 or 4 parts out of the box

The only experience that I have had with DPMS was with a cast lower.  It is terribly loose with any of the four uppers that I attach to it.  I sent it back to DPMS and they declared it within their specs.  I even offered to pay the difference in price for a forged lower.

I can't complain about their follow up and courtesy-they were very nice.  I will not buy anything else from them since I am going to end up tossing this one in a drawer and buying a new Eagle Arms lower. I already have one and it locks up nice and tight on the same upper that clanks around with the DPMS.

The sad thing is that I would have paid them $50-75 to swap the lower for a forged lower with tighter specs.  Instead I will pay Quantico $85 and they will lose a customer.
