Alright, I have heard people talking about the new M-4 upper made by H&K and wondered what the scoop was on it. Anyone know if they would sell it on the civilian market if the ban goes? Thanks, Chris |

From my understanding HK is planning to manufacture uppers receiver conversion in different barrel length, for the Military, Law Enforcement and Civilian market. When the factory in Georgia is up and running, they plan to sell complete AR type systems, but with their own, improved, gas system. The SHOT Show should be exciting. So many new products, so little money.[:)] ls |

HK is planning on manufacturing the entire gun. not just the upper for the military and LEO market. I am not sure what will be available for the civilian market. I have seen a HK gun, compare to the LMT MRP, the LMT is head and shoulder above the HK. be sure to look out for all sorts of pictures from guys at the show posting on AR15.com and HKPro. |
| M16 weapon system will still remain a large market even if the military goes to the XM8. why ditch a profitable market?? Like the rumor of HK thinking about building 1911 style pistol is the same reason. there is a market and why send your customers looking for a particular product to a competitor. |

If you look at the H&K XM8 barrel and the LMT MRP barrel you may notice some similaritys. I can't envision H&K doing a gas upper as the AR has today. It will be some form of Tappet / Operating rod upper similar to what the G36 / XM8 has. This is clearly the design direction being followed by H&K. |
