One thing I'd like to see (that would be totally non-retro-correct  ) is for H&R to take over the existing PSA retro lowers. I'd buy a ton of H&R-marked M4A1 lowers if they were priced similarly (and I'd pay extra for gray anodized ones, not that anyone else would want that). Seems like something that'd be easy enough to do and get H&R product out there while awaiting the real retro stuff.

All this stuff gets me warm and fuzzy. I really do understand that any time some company tries to bring back some old gun design or product there are hoards of guys on the gun web sites getting all excited but then half of them bad mouth the effort if the cost doesn't match what the original gun cost 20 or 30 years ago. Hope this can be done in a way to keep prices resonable and lots can be sold and make everything a success . I have long wondered if it would be at all possible to re-do a break action 22 revolver . It would need a decent trigger , reliable action and a price point where enough could be sold to make the whole project possible. I understand it might be unreasonable but I can still dream. |

I’m far from a purist, but refuse to build a XM16E1 or M16A1 clone using a M4/A4 lower receivers and A2 barrels. This is what I’m looking for and beyond freaking glad you guys stepped up to the plate to bring this and other retro clone parts to the market. Unfortunately, I have to agree with you that there will be “those” guys who will complain that the rifle or whatever part isn’t an exact copy of the original from 1968, but there are far more of us guys that simply want something to look closes enough to the originals to fill in those gaps in our AR collections. With that said, I hope that, down the road, you guys take over PSA’s “M16A2/M16A4” marked lower receivers AND produce those lower receivers with the H&R logo/markIngs as well…. This way, all my clone rifles will have basically the same receiver markings on the them. Again, thank you guys at H&R/PSA for kicking some serious butts to bring this stuff out to the market!! AND!! Please don’t think the “extreme purists” speaks for the entire retro crowd. |

People are probably more used to seeing weathered/worn handguards. I have an original Colt SP1 in excellent condition and the handguards looked/felt just like the Brownells ones. |

I’m doing a second round of ano testing right now. Once I’m satisfied with the finish, we will send the first batch of 100 off. There is a very limited number of NoDak uppers leftover that will also be sent. It’s a mix of 603, 604, and 605’s. Many of them are blems with a reoccurring forge flaw. |

I would be ok with a blem'd upper. So these will be anodized and up for sale tomorrow right??? Just kidding but seriously, please do some in black. Many of us missed out on grey and had to settle for a black Brownells lower.

Mike, Any chance you can do the lowers without the reinforcements (extra material) around the front push pin and where the receiver extension screws in? Is it possible to replicate the original profile? Really excited about a H&R grey color 603 someday! Thanks, 1981 |
