I just received my new MOE grip and installed it to my stag 2T. When I was putting the new screw in it tightened up, or rather got harder to turn. When I finally managed to get the sucker out this is what is looked like. (Sorry for the crappy picture, it's the best I could do.) http://i381.photobucket.com/albums/oo258/sneke989/101_0174-1.jpg

Anyone know what that blue stuff is?

Looks like Loctite® 242® Threadlocker to me.

Loctite, not necessary but I like to use it on most AR parts with threads.

So should I just keep tightening it down till it goes all the way in? Sorry, this is my first grip install so I'm just starting to get the hang of it.

Edit: Finally got it in, no shake or rattle, thanks for the quick replies guys!

glad you got it, I was just going to say that it will be a little hard with the dried loctite on it and to make sure you didn't cross thread it

The correct answer of course is that Magpul factory installs blue loctite on the grip screw to give some "bite" to the screw when correctly tightened.  Since the loctite is already dry on the screw it really does not bond the screw to the lower threads but acts as a friction enhancer to help reduce the posibility of the screw backing out.
