Okay so I picked up a WOA barrel from Rainier. And a VLTOR gas block from Midway.  Now I can not get the block to slide far enough to get over the gas port in the top of the barrel.  What am I doing wrong? Did I get to wrong gas block?

Oil or grease the barrel and the inside of the gas block.  Slide it on until it stops then tap it with a rubber mallet or block of wood the rest of the way.

They can be a little tight.  If you don't want to scratch the finish up try to avoid twisting the gas block back and forth - just tap it straight back into position.

Mine was the same way.  18" WOA, rifle length gas from Rainer and Vltor from somewhere else. (Disregard the AFG - it was holding the tube in alignment while the loc tite set up.)

Just put my LaRue 13.2 on today:

I just cut and ground down my "F" FSB.

A little oil and a mallet did the trick!

what i typically do is put the barrel in the deep freezer and the gas block in the over to warm it up, and slide them right together.
