Can someone post a picture of how they are suppose to look like?  Or is the rule of thumb is...as long as the gaps dont line up.

In a properly assembled AR, it shouldn't make any difference.  YMMV

If you want to be picky, put the gaps at the three 120 degree positions, like a triangle.  This is the farthest apart they can get.
