Always wanted the color filled lower so I thought I would give it a shot with some hobby paint. I just put a big glob over the etchings let it dry then wiped the excess off with a very light coat of cleaning solvent on a microfiber towel. It took a few times but Im ok with the results.  My oldest boy had some  model paint that I used called Testor. its less than a dollar a bottle .

That turned out pretty damn good. The only question is - how long will it last with cleaning and a light coat of oil?

I like it !

Not sure how long it will last but being that it cost me about a dollar to do Im not really gonna sweat it. I wish I could find out what paint Spikes and some others use then I would do it with that.  Maybe I will drop a clear coat on top of the paint that would make it last a bit longer.

I haven't seen it @ Wally World.  Any hobby shop or craft shop (like Michael's) will also carry it...

Nope they stopped selling it at WM ya gotta hit up a hobby store. Just glob it on let it harden and wipe off the excess with microfiber towel and some solvent. I say microfiber because the others leave particles behind.  Be careful not to wipe colors over each other also it will bleed.
