What size set screw can I use that will thread in under the front sight post in the FSB I know theres threads there id like to put in a set screw so the post is rock solid..TIA

I have some spare front sight posts and I just checked them on a thread pitch gauge. It looks like they are 4x0.7mm.

The front sight post are 8-36 threads.

That was my first thought 8-36. But there was a lot of play when I put it in my fastener gauge. It fit perfectly in the 4mm hole, and the threads lined perfectly with the 0.7mm thread gauge, so I assumed it was metric.
