I have been looking all through the forum and I can't find anything related.  Is there a difference in rails required for a 9mm?  Will a standard AR mini quad rail fit on the 9mm AR pistol?
I have a few more questions while I'm at it.  I have a newly acquired 5.5 inch 9mm AR pistol that was a suppressor host with a 10 inch quad rail.  That being said can the gun safely be fired in that configuration.  Is there any risk to using the gun without a quad rail?
I'm looking for a way to be able to test while I take care of the trust and paperwork for SBR and suppressor.

Thanks for helping the newb

What no nocturnal folks in the know? Please don't make me have to ask the folks at the gun shop, it's hit or miss there.

Every 9mm upper I've seen takes the same rails as a non 9mm.   Shouldn't be an issue there. I'd be concerned if the rail went way past the end of the barrel, but that could be fixed w/ a fake can or something if you're waiting on stamps and want to shoot it now.  On the other hand w/ a 9mm muzzle blast would be minimal so you might be ok if you keep your hands back of the actual muzzle.  I'd shoot it and see what happens.

That's kind of what I was thinking about the rails but needed a second opinion.

depending on what rail you have (well vented or not), you may wish to keep your hands as far back as possible, think mag well hold.

I would assume that the muzzle flash from the 9mm shouldnt blow the railed forend apart, after all you pretty much have a "fake can" on there with the rail longer than the barrel.

It is well vented. It's a YMH light weight quadrail.  I damn near lost the detent pin tonight when I was swapping the end plate. Fortunately I have a rug with a tight weave, good eyesight.... and a little luck.
