Can anyone tell me how to disassemble a four position adjustable stock?  My stock has broken, and I need to take it off the buffer tube to see if it can be repaired.  The locking mechanism has broken and it will not lock into place.  It appears as though the spring has broken or the mechanism is somehow jammed.

MB, you remove the stock by pulling the latch out and then sliding the stock off the buffer extension tube. Grasp the latch with your hand and pull it out as far as it will go. The stock will be able to slide right off the tube when you do this.

Edited for clarity (hopefully).

Thank you CJ. I will give that a try.  The latch is pretty hard to move, almost like it is jammed.
