I haven't opened up one of my safes in so long so when I did I found my first rebuild custom AR rifle.   it is an old oly arms I got back when I was 18. damn that was 12 years ago.  It has been much the same but I added the rail system in 2000 to replace the old smooth FFT. I got the barrel in the 90's when it was hard and expensive to get an M-4 barrel.  painted the rifle and scope when I moved to the desert in 99.  I haven't shot this rifle in probably 2 years.  I feel like a dead beat dad.  I need to go throw some brass on the ground with it.   I have taken probably 12 yotes with it and it has had some  massive rounds go throught the tube.

just wanted to show it off

James

I always file teh ARs as just ARs in my memory.  I have been giving the Aks most of my time as of lately, I guess.
I have no time to shoot lately and when I do I usualy am doing load development for farther reaching toys.

Kind of sad I know.

Man, I wish I could find something like that laying around here

Looks great, but you really need to shoot it. It looks lonely.

Cool looking rig, esp. for a first time build.  You gotta bond more with her, she does look forlorn.

I only have 2 safes.  1 for storage and 1 for my  "shooting" stuff.  I have a few "collector" rifles that I dont shoot and some old family stuff.

I've actually had dreams (real when I was sleeping dreams) that I went in the safe and found guns I forgot I owned.  To date it has yet to actually happen.  I suppose if I keep buying it may sometime in the future.

later,
AJ

I took her on a horrible trip.  Family emergency my mother had a stroke.  I was able to take a brake from the fun and made it to a stretch of gov land and gave her a serious workout of 550 rounds.  Never skipped a beat.   damn I remeber why I built this thing like this.
