[ARCHIVED THREAD] - Forward Assist problem

Hi guys! I have an issue that I'd like to get some assistance on. The forward assist on my Colt M4 doesn't work! When you push the forward assist the extension doesn't touch the bolt carrier at all! In eye balling it the forward assist is in tact but when I compare the little lever thing that actually comes in contact with the bolt carrier to the ones on my other rifles, it doesn't stand out far enough to contact anything. I hope you guys understand what I'm talking about. I'm not up to speed on all of the technical terminology. Does anyone have any idea how to correct this minor issue? Thanks!

Could have been installed the wrong way as it is a 2 piece component with a spring.Or maybe the spring is binding,tap out the roll pin and check the assembly or if its a new rifle send the upper back to the manufacturer and let them handle it.

Well i'm sure its a minor issue...i'm thinking of just letting my gunsmith take a gander at it. I'm sure sure this issue just started recently.
