Hey guys,

***summary of post below - bought a Switch 14", it's dpms high style, the PSA upper is dpms low style. looks like aero precision upper is dpms high style. can anyone confirm?
***can someone measure the pivot/takedown tabs on their AERO PRECISION upper so i can see if an aero precision upper will fit my PSA lower.

Looking to buy a Fortis Switch (12", 14", or 15") for my 308 build. actual sizes are 12.42", 14.76", and 15.75"

Would like to see your setups with barrel length and rail length listed.

My real goal here is to see what a 14" rail on a 14.5 barrel looks like, or a 15" rail on a 16" barrel, but all other images and setups are welcome to post!

thanks

and i'll start, i found this on rainier arms' website under the 15" switch images

LUTH-AR MBA.  It's a PRS styled stock that weighs a lot less and is considerably cheaper than the Magpul PRS.  It's pretty awesome.

Mind posting some more pics of the muzzle end? Love that look!
Also if you've got a ruler handy, how far is it from the front of the rail to the back of the flash hider?

Thanks!

As promised here are some pictures closeup of the rail and the end of the barrel.  Measurement shows just over an inch from the end of the rail and bottom of the threads.

Would you mind measuring from front of rail to back side of flash hider like Sanausnol did?

Thanks!

What does the bottom of the rail look like? Specifically the barrel end. A picture would be appreciated. I am trying to decide between the Rainier branded switch versus the MI keymod rail.

I wish these rails at least the Rainer Switch ones I ordered for my .308 came with more detail. It said tool-less install, etc.. so I torqued the nut to 32ft lbs, then I opened the key and slowly slid the rail over the nut, but no matter what it would not go on without side to side movement, well after hour of gently trying to slide it on ... it scratched all the inside of the tube up.

Now, since there was no instructions, etc... I took the whole thing apart, and let the hex head screw come all the way out (I didn't want to mess with it because I was under assumption that was preset), after that I slide rails on, locked key in place, then tightened the hex head screw.

Now, if I have to do that what is point of key lock system? Now even though it can't be seen my $300 rails imo are worthless, I guess I was unlucky and the person who set the hex screw on my barrel nut in the rail just went to tight.

Well they also sent me a .223 RAC instead of .308 so without the comp and empty mag and no optic just at 8lbs.... 15.5 on 18" barrel.

If it doesn't fit correctly send it back to them and exchange it for one that does.  I got the Rainier branded on and it fits just fine, no wiggle and I didn't play with any of the adjustments.   Mine did have some minimal instructions that basically said don't try to adjust the screw, send it back if it doesn't fit.

theres a blurb about the adjustment here:

updates:

any help on this... i ordered a switch for my PSA receiver set. turns out the PSA upper is a DPMS LOW style... and the switch is a DPMS HIGH style.

looks like at least two of you may be using Aero Precision upper receivers... marcdjudge and goodasgone81?

is the Aero Precision upper receiver a DPMS HIGH profile style upper?

anyone with an Aero Precision upper, can you measure the width of the pivot pin tab and the width of the takedown pin tab? i'd like to see if it fits my PSA lower receiver.

i would rather swap uppers than have to hustle and sell my fortis switch 14"... unless someone here wants one.

There is a thread on here somewhere that says the PSA lower and Aero upper don't play well together.  Aero upper is in fact the high profile with the .210" tang.

IM if you decide to part with the switch, I might be interested but don't want to get your thread locked.
