I know this isn't what you want to hear, but someone's got to say it for your own good:

STOP!

Remove the new springs and followers from these mags, set them aside, and TOSS those mags.  In fact, since the floorplates are already off, go ahead and back your car over them a few times and make sure they're totally flat before you throw them away.

You will NEVER get these mags to be reliable.  You've already wasted way too much time and money on them.  Cut your losses now, before you waste any more, and in the future, promise yourself that in the future, you'll take 10 minutes to research any purchase over $20.  If you had, we would have told you the following:

- Tom Forrest is the absolute scum of the gun world, with the worst customer serivce in the industry.  PT Barnum would be proud.
- Western Metal mags are total crap.  In stock form, they don't even make adequate paper weights.
- You can't polish a turd.

Save up some money, and buy some USGI mags from the EE here.  If they don't come with GFs, you can use the ones you saved.  If the springs are worn out (unlikely), you can use the springs you saved.  Regardless, you'll have mags that WORK.

Finally, everytime you pull your wallet out of your pocket, remember this quote:
