Does anyone have a parts list from an AR they've built they could share with me? This will be my first build and I'm looking for decent quality but mainly looking to stay pretty cheap (under 800). I want a 16" mid-length with low-profile gas block. Thanks!

I'm also open to any helpful hints or tips that may assist in my build or in making my gun as good as it can be for the price.

Do you already have a factory made AR-15?

No I do not. I'm familiar with the gun in the sense that I've shot them on multiple occasions though so I figured I'd just skip buying one and build it.

What are you wanting to use the gun for? Plinking, range shooting, accuracy, varmint?

Range shooting and coyote hunting.

For the Lower:

Stripped lower
Lower Parts Kit (I have used CMMG)
Stock Kit (make sure the buffer tube and stock are both either mil spec or commercial spec)

Upper:

Stripped Upper
Dust cover kit
Forward assist kit
Charging handle
Bolt Carrier Group
Barrel
Gas block (A2 style or low pre depending on if you go free float of not)
Gas tube (made sure it is the correct length depending on your barrel)
barrel nut (type will depend on your handguard)
may need delta ring unless you go free float
muzzle device
sights

Tools:
(required)
Roll pins
receiver block for upper
armourers wrench
vise

(suggested)
lower receiver block
roll pin starter
torque wrench

I did not give specifics on the parts since EVERYTHING can be sourced either individually or as kits.  If you do not want 'stock' part x, then google part x and see how much you can spend just for that part.  Figure our what caliber you want, gas system, FF (free float) or not, ambi or right hand only, then go from there.

You can't beat a Del-Ton barrel. PSA for everything else! Easy build under 800!

Very accurate barrel! I have PSA in all my builds! Can't go wrong. PM me for parts list!

Glad to help

I know this is a DIY thread, but if you just want to plink and shoot coyotes you can get this rifle for way less than 800 and you wont have to build anything.
