I recently started building ARs for family and friends upon request and after seeing pics of a friend's deployment to Afghanistan I wanted to use the Afghan mountain color palette to paint an AR in ATACS-style.

I'm pleased with the result.

Grateful for the feedback and for being part of the forum.

Do you have any other pics of the process ?

I must admit when I started seeing the guns painted I thought it was one of the dumbest things I ever seen. But they are kinda growing on me (wearing me down maybe) but yours has pushed me over to the dark side. I really do like that Can we get a close up of it?  Nice looking gun BTW

Thanks for the compliments! I have some close up shots but am not sure how to post them. I originally linked them from Flickr but another forum member was able to post.

One way is to use photo bucket then copy and paste the link.

That looks really great .I'm building my first AR  and have most parts assembled PSA blemished upper,Yankee hill lower wind-ham barrel 1/9 and gas block CMMG trigger group etc. When is best to paint before a build or after and how did you do it. Need charging handle ,BCG,complete buffer tube and stock and I'm done. The only thing is I'm afraid to bring it outside to shoot here in NY.

Thanks
Dan

Why are you selling it?  I saw it on AL for $725?

Hey Dan, I paint mine after the build is complete otherwise you run the risk of unintentional outlines for the components.

D16man, I built it to sell. I usually build one every couple months just to build, paint, and sell.

I would be careful putting this out on the net. Someone MIGHT think you were manufacturing firearms.

Roger that..no manufacturing here. People just asking for help putting their kits together. Move along...move along....
