Hi all, I'm planning on doing my first build soon. I've got a LAR Grizzly lower. My thinking on the rest is that I want a flattop upper, chrome lined 20inch barrel, and eventually an A1 stock from Calvary arms. I will probobly go with standard front handguard. I'm still trying to figure out some additional aspects though and could use some advice. My main question is this. I will eventually put an aimpoint on it but until the funds become available will probobly put some sort of inexpensive scope on it. Something in the 3x9 range which may come off one of my other rifles. In any event, I do want backup iron sights and will be using some sort of folding rear sight. But on the front I don't know if I want the standard style iron sight or some sort of fold down. If I go with the standard front sight will it interfere with my scope picture. I've shot one with an aimpoint on it and it wasn't a problem. But not sure about a scoped rifle. Any advice? I live in NY so a flash hider is out. Muzzle break or target crown. I'm thinking muzzle break at this point and have been eyeballing the J&T 20" expedition kit which has the integral muzzle break. However, I wonder if a muzzle break is really neccessary on a 20" barrel. Any thoughts on this? Finally, I'm thinking about the RRA 2 stage match trigger but haven't made any decisions. This is most like a future upgrade anyways. Am I missing anything? Thanks for your help Brett |
