Spikes Tactical Mid LE Upper
Aero Precision Stripped Lower DPMS Parts Kit YHM Diamond Mid Length Handguard M4 Stock Magpul AFG Magpul MBUS Ikickhippies SLAP (rubber coated) Magpul MS2 Sling KZ light mount for Fenix TK12 Finished last week. Like to say thanks to Spikes Tactical, their customer service is excellent. Spikes was able to put a low profile gas block on for me and I told them I didnt need their handguard and they subtracted its cost from my total. Thats kick ass service. Also thanks to these forums, you can find anything you ever needed to know just with the search function. Took her for a test drive the other day and its friggin great. Needs optics, a new grip and stock at some point... man this stuff is addicting. Already planning my next build. Pic or it didnt happen..... http://i274.photobucket.com/albums/jj274/smesx/done.jpg What do you all think, any suggestions other than shooting it as much as possible? .

| I didnt really either... only had about 15 minutes and 2 mags. The only other rifle I had fired prior to this was a 22 bolt action, that and a 12 ga. This was a little different. Need some range time but I start a new job in Chicago in a couple weeks, no guns for at least a while when that happens. This will stay with my brother who built it with me. Damn FOID... |

Looks great, and I know what you mean about the addiction...
If I wasn't in love with Tactical Innovations lowers (and service), the Aero Precision would be on my short list to try out. Haven't seen one in person, but they look like a real quality piece. I really like Vltor (and Magpul) stocks as replacements for the stocker. The Vltor is incredibly comfortable to shoot, and they both seem to reduce the very cheap sounding "twang" you hear every time you fire the thing. IMO they provide an improvement in both real and perceived quality. Just let an old-school wood-stock-and-blued-steel-or-nothing shooter play with your AR, and the second thing he'll say is some kind of comment about the sound of the recoil spring in his ear..... or maybe it's just the crusty old guys around these parts..... How do you like your DPMS lpk? I used one in my first build, and the trigger felt like trying to paddle a canoe in gravel. I haven't tried another, but have used CMMG (fine), Anvil Arms (my favorite), and have settled on Stag for the balance of them... |
