Hi all,,Just got my first AR,been wanting on forever,So i look forward to hanging around and learning the in's an outs I have a Double Star lower J&T Distributing Carbine upper with 16" barrel (good/bad?) One question right off the bat,I'm looking to pick up some extra mags, what are the good one and the ones to avoid? Round count Isn't an issue since I'm in Nevada so are 30 rounders more problematic that say 10's or 20's? |
Your only on post 2.... but other guys may not be so kind... Magpul and Cproducts both great mags to buy. I would stake my life on either. |

Myself I have started buying the non metal Lancer System L5s http://www.lancer-systems.com/L5.html I buy them at Aim Surplus. http://www.aimsurplus.com/acatalog/Lancer_L5_.223_AR15_M16_30rd_Polymer_Magazine.html If you like metal Mags Brownell's has a really quality Mag. C-Products Mags. are good to go. Any USGI Mag. is a good pick. |

I may not have many posts but that does'nt mean that I dont have experience with ar15's or products in gereral. Truth be known Ive tested and use many different mags from dpms, magpul, beta mags, and most function fine. But like I say the P mag are what my veteran friends say they will stake their lives on. |
I was just giving you shit about the use of the term "clip" instead of mag. I think its an Arfcom inside joke. Everyone gets called out on it at sometime or another. Im not doubting your knowledge on AR's at all. Sorry... I wasnt trying to be a prick. And welcome to the site
