I recenty bought several hundred rds. from a local gun shop.  After opening up some of the boxes I have found that there are a lot of dents in the cases.  Some are bad enough that I will not shoot it.  I have also found a few that had other problems as well.  1 or 2 had setback that I thought was excessive and 1rd., the bullet was bent in the case by at least 10 degrees.

I have many other lots of this same ammo and it is all fine.

Any body else have any problems with this lot?

I dont know about that specific lot - but those issues are not unheard of with XM193.

I checked my ammo cans and I have a few thousand rounds of lot 101 thats on strippers and in bandos.  When I put them on strippers I check the rounds out and my lot 101s must have been fine or they would not be in my long term storage.

Were they packed loose or in boxes?

I bought 2k of lot 106 and it all looks good to me.  I inspected it as I unpackaged it and put it in cans.  No primer problems or dents that I noticed.

It was in boxes.  Maybe I'll just open the rest and put in cans.  So far I would say 1rd. per box was damaged beyond what I think is safe.

I still think we need a tacked thread about the various lots of XM193 and what appears to be out of spec with them.

Lot 87, nasty neck sealant all over the cases

I'e found Lot 87 to have alot more small dings than usual, though they don't appear to be unsafe or anything.

I dumped the rest of that lot that I had (about 200rd.) and found 2rds. I thought were damaged enough to cause a problem.  Still, lots af small dents and dings.

Seems like the earlier lots were much cleaner and had alot less dents than this one.  That being said,  I've found no difference in the way it shoots and functions in my gun.

I have some 101 with dings.  A few I won't shoot but most of the dings are minor.  I don't think they well jeopordise reliability.
