Was just reading on Oracle that Sierra MatchKing was authorized to use in 90 for sniper but the hollowpoint was not designed to expand or fragment.

MatchKing are OTP right?

I taught it was a good ammo to use in SD, and since XM193 are difficult to have here, I start to pack few boxes but i'm now wondering...

Is that ammo good for SD in my Armalite 1.9? Or will it only make a .22 hole?

Read what they wrote more closely: "...it wasn't DESIGNED to expand or fragment..." ;)
Wont expand much, but sure does fragment.

Its good but does not have the short neck till yaw of 68 grain OTM Hornady bullets and it lacks the cannelure of the 68 grain bullet though it is usually more accurate.  75 and 77 grain match ammo has superior terminal ballisitcs and fragmenting range.  69 grain ammo is not good for use in 11.5 or 10.5 inch barrels.

The FBI if memory serves uses 69 grain Sierra bullets.

I just recently had two primers of this round blow out of only 20 rounds fired through a 1x9 Colt carbine.  Accuracy has always been great and, I believe at one time, FBI did use this round.
I emailed a Federal rep. today who said all Federal rounds currently have crimped primers and their LE loading for the 69 grain SMK, #T223M now also has a cannelure.

I just picked up a couple of cases of the T223M  for my 1/7 20" Colt, I'll post a range report after the weekend if your interested in it

dpmmn,
I'd appreciate that sir. PD had the GM223M for a long time as our duty load and kind of lost confidence due to no crimp/no cannelure.
Thanks.
