I'm thinking of replacing a "post ban" (no bayo lug) FSB from an old Bushmaster upper with a normal F marked FSB. My question is will there be any problems lining up the FSB or can I expect some canting issues? As it stands, the upper shoots dead on with the old FSB and rear carry handle irons. I'm also replacing the carry handle with a ARMS #40A2 that's been collecting dust as of late.

FSB's are not interchangable.  Any new no ban FSB you buy will not be drilled for taper pins.

Best bet is to send it off and have someone do it.  I think ADCO does the swap.

Alternate solution is to use a drilled and tapped FSB / set screws but this is not as sturdy as a pinned FSB.

Here's a pic of a FSB I drilled and tapped.

I have done this for several people and have not had any problems reported that the FSB got knocked off center however, I would not trust this on a rifle that I was betting my life on.

Also see HERE for a different FSB.  This one is a clamp on and appears to avoid the taper pin holes but doesn't appear to have a bayo lug.

So seeing as I have a Bushmaster upper and will be purchasing a Bushmaster FSB, the taper pins will not work? I am essentialy replacing the same FSB. Only diff is that the NEW one will have a bayo lug and is the F marked type. I was informed that the new FSB I am purchasing will except taper pins. I have no intention on using set screws or any other setup other than the standard taper pins. Am I missing something here?

What you're missing is the same thing that is always discussed when people ask about replacing the FSB.  There is no standard location for the pins.  The new FSB you are thinking of buying -is- comapitble with taper pins.  What he didn't tell you is that the propper method of installing a FSB with taper pins is to clamp the FSB and drill the holes through the barrel and FSB at the same time.

If the barrel has already been drilled before then replacing the FSB will require that you drill holes in teh FSB to match teh barrel.  The process is so time-consuming and has such a high risk of failure that most shops simply refuse to do it.

You are correct. More trouble than it's worth. The easy solution is to just purchase the taller front sight post for my original FSB.

I did try the search at first and saw many threads on replacing the FSB with set screw and clamp type aftermarket FSB's. I missed the couple threads that fit my situation the first time. Just wasnt looking hard enough I guess. Many thanks guys......
