Do yourself a favor and purchase your punches from Sears, as Craftsman punches have a lifetime warranty which will come in quite handy as even the quality 1/16" punches will break.
And forget about buying cheap tools. Mike |

I like the roll pin punch set from Brownell's -- they have a bump in the middle so the pin doesn't slide off -- but you have to watch them because the steel isn't super hard.

These four punches will do every roll pin on the AR-15.

NRA used to have this link up with lots of building info, and list of tools:
http://www.nrahq.org/publications/ssusa/AR15_tools.asp Unfortunately they either took it down or maybe you have to be a NRA member to see it? The link worked when I was a member but I'm not anymore; maybe a computer geek knows how to locate the file. |

I just use an Allen wrench set I got from Wal-Mart. It has all the different sizes both in standard and metric. It's cheap and works fine for me. I also use them as punches since I don't have the proper punch set yet.

Now thats what Im talking about. I actually just built my first lower with pen caps, a full size hammer, bubble wrap, a screw driver and a few other weird things hahaha Im going to walmart! Craftsman eat your heart out! |
