Finally mounted up my Eotech 512.A65, that I picked up second hand on my new M4. I took it to my property for some plinking and to get it sighted in.

Let me first say that I left the directions at home. No biggie I figure.

While trying to hit paper @ 50yds, I hit nothing. So I move to 25yds. Now I'm on paper I'm high & to the left. I adjust and shoot again. Same spot. Hmmmm I adjust some more and still nothing.
Bottom line, I can't get it to move right.

What am I doing wrong? Anyone else have this issue ?

I'm moving this over to the Optics forum. Replies will be quicker there.

Fire from the 25 yard line where you are hitting paper. If you are hitting high and to the left, adjust the windage and elevation in the direction you want the bullets to move. Example: the windage adj screw will have an R marking indicating turn the knob in that direction to move the bullet strike to the right. Once the windage is in line, adjust the elevation. Once you're hitting your point of aim, move to 50 yards and adjust elvation to point of aim and you will be good to go.

Full-Auto
Edited to add: If after this you are still way off and out of adjustment, check your mount to see if it may be slightly off or canted. Start by removing the Eotech and re-mounting making sure the optic is level on the rail.

I WAS making windage adjustments. My issue was that the point of impact was not moving in relationship to the adjustments. It was like it was stuck.

I figured I had better quit, mainly because I didn't have the manual to refer too.

how much adjustment were you making? I was doing like 9 clicks at 25 yds to get into where I wanted it to be. Then another 1-2 once in the center to get dead on

Sounds to me like there may have been a reason with the EoTech was available second hand.  Mine, at least, a Model 552, is about a straight forward as an optic could be in terms of adjustment or zeroing. There's nothng in the manual that's going to assist you over and above what you've already done and what's been suggested above. If you have a BUIS (front and rear) you can determine if the dot is actually moving by sighting with the irons and attempting to co-wittness the EoTech.  Assuming your description is accurate, it sounds like your optic needs a little factory service.

What revision is it? There should be a letter molded into the bottom of the sight.

If its anything but F the electronics package is famous for this. Its one of the zero problems the F revision was supposed to correct.

Another thing is at 25 yards you will have to multiply your adjustments. Adjustments are so many clicks to move it 1inch. The EoTech is 2 clicks for 1 inch at 100. At 50 yards, it will be 4. at 25 it will be 8. So if you are high and to the right, you may be needing to move it more than what you think.
