Trying to remove the sling loop on my FSB...took a 1/16th inch punch to it and gave it a good couple whacks with a sledge hammer...all I succeeded in doing was breaking my punch at the end of the nub.

Brand new punches I bought a few weeks ago from Home Depot for my AR

Drilling the shop head off usually works the best. Although I’ve simply taken a punch to the pin myself in the past.

Yeah you can usually just punch it out.  Otherwise the drill method works great.
