Ok I still have a headspace that is too short with a DPMS 24" Stainless Steel 223 Rem barrel mounted in an RRA upper with a DPMS BCG.  All parts are brand new.  The barrel extension was installed on the barrel by DPMS.  I can not close the bolt on my new Forster GO Gauge.  I tried another bolt assy (this BCG has seen about 450 WWB rounds) and can close on the GO Gauge but it takes more than just a light touch to do so.  I strip the bolts down and install in the upper before performing the check.

I don't won't to shoot the gun until it is resolved.  DPMS suggests that I ream the chamber out more to match the bolt.  This is not something I'm going to do myself.  Not sure of what a gunsmith will cost but I think it is ridiculous to need to do this since the brand new parts should be in spec.

Should I just try different bolts until it fits?  DPMS claims the barrel is not a defect, even though they have not looked at it.

I would call DPMS and not take no for an answer.
Ask to talk to the head of customer service.
The bottom line is that their barrel is out of spec.

Send the DPMS barrel and the DPMS bolt back to us and we will take care of everything.

Please call 1-800-578-DPMS, ask for Shane in warranty and he will handle it.
