Is there any practical difference between these two non-NVG compatible sights? I don't plan on submerging any of my weapons deeper than the foot or two that would result from a stream crossing. |
I've owned both. The CompC3 comes with a 30mm ring, and bikini lens covers. The CompML2 doesn't come with any mounting hardware and has flip-up lens covers. Also, the ML2 comes with the little rubber strap which attaches to the battery cap and the windage/elevation caps. The CompC3 doesn't. That's about it. |
So, it sounds like it's worth the cost differential to get the flip caps, dummy strap, and greater environmental rating? |
That's debatable. But, let me clarify... The CompC3 is comparable to the CompML3 (not the ML2), as far as battery life is concerned. Max battery life of around 50,000 hours for both. The ML2 has a max battery life of around 10,000 hours. I had a CompC (which is now discontinued), not the CompC3. That model is equal to the ML2 in terms of battery life. MidwayUSA had a clearance, and was selling them $200 last year, which was total bargain. :) |
