What is the closest thing to a real m4 that money can buy, doesn't have to be a Colt though.

LMT upper, and a good forged lower of your choice.

Colt LE6920

the only differences are:

1) No selct fire (No auto or burst)
2) 16" barrel versus the M4 being 14.5"

but you could get the 14.5" with a permit from the government for a short barrelled rifle (SBR)

All others are modeled after the Colt who owns (but may licence) the M4 name

Handguards and  flash hider, came from Brightflashlight, A+  fast delivery.

It  a Knight tilt forward mount, it is  a clone, it seem to be  well made.
Usely, they run 150 to 175 buxs, but can be had  for  $50.

Love  my Aimpoint,  also added a killflash.

Just recently added the Vltor stock, excellent  cheek weld.

Why the PRI military latch? None of our issued M4's have this feature. I figured the closest thing to an M4 ment to make it as close to a copy as possible. The handguards on our M4's are KAC RIS and our mounts for our M68's are Aimpoint QRP mounts, we also use KAC 300m BUIS but we have a new kind in now that is total junk. Just to let you know in case you are interested... TexasGunman, that is a sweet looking rifle. After I get mine back from Adco I will post an updated picture of mine.

Thank, these have come  a long ways since my days serving uncle sam,  I  got  most of my ideas, based on  pictures of  soldiers spec ops  weapons.

It  not a  perfect clone, but close as I could get on a  tight budget.

Also have forward grip and a tactical flashlight, that isnt pictured.

I believe I have the closest possible: Colt M16A2 lower marked AUTO, Colt M4 flattop upper, Colt B/BC, Colt M4 telestock. Looks and functions just like an M4A1.

I think there are only a handful of transferable factory M4s out there.

Colt LE6921 is the closest I would say. Good luck getting one though.

I think you mean M16A2 lower

Yes, this would be the closest you can get, probably cost you around $10,000 these days if not more.

Second best, would be a registered short barreled rifle with a Colt M-4 14.5" upper (avalible from Hoplite).

Third best would be the rest of the suggestions for various Title 1 guns in this thread.

Do you use the spacer with your QRP's?

aren't the trigger pins the wrong size too?  I might be wrong, as I can't keep track of what models Colt decides to change and when.

TexasGunman, I have the same rail system you have and think it is great. On my POW I have a surefire M961 but we are issued M951's some units have various different lights but thats what we have with a 6 inch tape switch. I personaly have a tail clicker switch on my own. We also have the Aimpoint Comp M not the Comp M2's (Comp M's suck ass. I have a Comp ML2 in the mail coming to me so I will see how much better they are than the older ones)

I hate you... Just kidding. I am going to save all my money from Iraq this next trip so when I move back to Texas I can try to get a select fire M16 lower. Might have to sell my Harley also to do it but I doubt I will go that far, semi auto is good for me
