At the range  my rifle jammed.  I got about 175 rounds thru the rifle when I had one that wouldn't feed, I cleared the round, pulled the charging handle back released it and the Bolt/Carrier got stuck (really tight) in the forward position. The chamber is clear but I can't get the carrier back at all.
I guess what I need to know is this fixable, and what the acceptable fix is?

Any information would be greatly appreciated!!

I had this happen here in Iraq. I ended up doing the AR bump. Pull on the charging handle at the same time, slam the weapon on the butt stock. It may take more than one slam. Don't let go off the charging handle when you do this as it may slam fire with a round in the chamber.

I think my malfunction was caused by a round that was slightly bent or out of round. I cleaned every mag, every round, the entire weapon and theproblem has not repeated itself. I think it was bad ammo.

You pull on the charging handle to keep the bolt carrier from rebounding and driving the jammed ran back into the chamber. Slam fire is a remote possibility regardless of pulling on the charging handle

I mention it cause I've had it happen more than once with commercial ammo. Can't explain it but experienced it.

I got it with a smack of arubber mallet to the charging handle.
