I have been using this set-up for my single point sling use for a bit now. The folks who don't like the noise from the Magpul endplate can do this simple mod.
Go to the local bicycle store and ask if they can give you a free blown out inner tube. They are going to throw it away anyways. Cut a one inch length to fit over the chain on the endplate. The rubber drags against the chain and cut down on noise. No more clatter, and the sling can still be disengaged quickly by pulling the release as the rubber doesn't cover the connector completely. The rubber also rips away easier than if you taped the sling to silence it.
