I have a remanufactured pre ban Colt lower that I just got back from Colt. I was wondering if one could wear out a lower with normal semi auto use ? Does the mental of the lower break down or become weak with time and use ? Please leave me some advice!!!

Thanks,

I think not

There was a discussion a while back about "stretching"

That was described as "oblong-ing" the holes in the lower after long-term (usually full-auto) use

But I think that is the rare exception.............very rare.

Now the finish can wear off and cause some problems when that happens but that doesn't happen overnight and fixes are easy

i have around 10k through one of my rifles and the lower looks like it came from the factory yesterday, except for all the finish damage i put there myself but structual wise its brand new

Shivan knows......he told me they are rated to like 1.5 million rounds, more rounds than he could fire in a lifetime through a full auto

Rounds are rounds, it doesn't matter if it is full or semi.

I have about 80,000 rounds through my Bushy sear gun and the lower is still in excellent condition. Now some of the barrels, on the other hand, have been turned into smooth bores!

The parts inside would go long before you ever have to worry about the actual lower.
