Archived [ARCHIVED THREAD] - Cabela's ammo w/ ammo cans?

Have any of you all ever ordered any of the bulk ammo that comes with free ammo cans from Cabela's?  Is it any good or will it wear out my barrel?  I know it isn't target ammo or anything, but being in college, money is always an issue so if I can find some decent inexpensive plinking ammo...well, that would be ok with me.  Thanks for any info.

I have not looked in awhile at those. How much are they? I have usually found better deals elsewhere.

Cabella's -
Yesterday I picked up 1000 rounds of .223 62gr Wolf with four ammo cans (marked at $6 a piece)
Came to $114 + tax

With a wipe over of CLP the cans are pretty good - ex-Israeli 50mm - some come complete with a mini-isreali desert inside.

I believe that after shooting a few thousand rounds of this stuff, I'll have saved enough for a new barrel anyway...
