I have been looking for a box of 500+ of 22 LR locally and online but have been unsuccessful. Is there a place online that restocks 22 LR regularly? I have been seeing restock dates out into June and July. Thanks I shoot a lot of .22LR and only in CCI AR Tactical (because it somehow cycles well in all my guns, handguns and rifles). I did two purchases in the past two months: Cabela’s on 1/3/2013 – 7 cents per round (incl. ship.) – Still waiting for it. They say it will be delivered on 2/28/2013. Lucky Gunner on 2/1/2013 – 8 cents per round (incl. ship.) – It was delivered within a week. |

Thanks guys if I find any good deals for 22 LR, I will be sure to post it here.

I've been looking for 9mm, .22LR and .223 at Walmart since late December and have not seen it in stock ONCE. I've been there looking no less than a dozen times. They claim they ARE getting some in, but I've been suspicious of what the employees are doing because it is literally NEVER there. I can't get the online in-stock thing to work either. It was working last week, but this week it is extremely difficult to find. At the moment I can't find any of the three calibers on their website to even check stock at all.

Brown truck showed up yesterday with a case of the Cabela's PMC X-TAC yesterday that was posted here several days ago and lasted only minutes apparently. Was about .47/cpr with shipping. I just wanted to say thanks to the poster that put it in this thread the other day because that is the first ammo I've bought (online) in this panic and even though I thought the price was kinda stiff, I also realized that it wasn't terrible in the current environment and I don't know when the price prices will come back down. I do know I was getting it for about .32/cpr prior to December.

US Armorment just can't seem to take a hint. Their $0.54 per round 80gr match stuff has been sitting at the top of gunbot.net all week. Maybe it's time to try lowering the price, US Armorment? Duh. So, now they try the oldest trick in the book...raise the price? lol Good luck with that US Armorment. |

Went around to the local gun shops today. If someone in the Portland area is desperate, Fisherman's Marine in Oregon City had American Eage 5.56 for $70 per 100pk and XM193 $14 per 20pk. They also had Ruger BX25-2 mags for $80 and PMAGs for $40. Nobody was touching any of it, I saw about a dozen people walk away shaking their heads after seeing the prices. Northwest Armory also had AE223 on the shelf, no price on it, but nobody was even looking at it, they were all buying handguns.

btw, gunbot is behind a good bit. Just updated for some ammo that has been in stock all day. I wouldn't rely on it to catch a quick lead on a deal.

I think we are getting to the point where most of the guys with money have pretty much bought what they want/need and now the regular gun customers are waiting/hoping for prices to come back down. The problem is that ammo supply does not exist. One of my main local gun shops as NO ammo in stock in any caliber! And all you have to do is check a bunch of the gun sites online and you will see that none of them have any stock either. So now it's not just a matter of looking for a good price, it's a matter of finding anything in stock. Glad to see people walking away from overpriced ammo, but that is not happening in the bigger city gun shops where I go. |

You'd be better off finding someone on Armslist in your area. I've seen .223 going for .65 to .70pr. $350 for a 500rd case seems to be the price on the street. Not cheap by any means, but it's not a buck or more per round that a lot of places are charging. If you're in need and it's in your budget, it's an alternative. And it's always nice to have to option to do a face-to-face meet with the person gouging you unlike the anonymous cornholing you'd get buying from Gunbroker. |

I'm not in need, just pissed I missed the deal. I ordered this ammo months ago from Wrigleys and got cancelled out. My point in posting it was to show that in my opinion it won't be long until all the deals are gone. Look at it from a sellers point, why should I sell low just for people to turn around and resell. Look at the deal at PSA 3 weeks ago you could get 1000 xtac at 50 cpr now 60 cpr a 20% increase. SGammo had PMC for 649.00 he said he only got 7 cases when he usually got 2 pallets and got accused of gouging. Just saying looking at it from their point of view prices in at least the near term are only going one way and it's UP. |

I don't think you'll be regretting it later. More than likely you'll be thanking yourself for making a wise decision. 20 minutes in and it's still "in stock". That's a good sign in my opinion. People are finally starting to see the light. In other news, I have two separate 2080 round lots of backordered .223 Brown Bear @ 24 cpr that were originally slated for late July fulfillment that have now been bumped up to a mid-to-late March fulfillment. I see that as another very positive sign. Edit: Now 32+ minutes in and it's still available... |

Of course dealers are paying more.
Distributors are getting top dollar from dealers, so prices go up across the board. SGAmmo has been very candid about the situation and reasoning behind higher prices. They arent gouging, there trying to stay in business. Now the $0.80+/rd stuff is a probably gouging. |

ugh...my post didnt take when I hit submit.... Short version...Went to Wal Mart after seeing the website said "limited stock" and after some searching the clerk found 4 boxes in what he called the "hidden" spot. Why the heck are they hiding ammo? Like said before, A lot of these stores' employees are being shotty about it and stashing it away for friends/family. which is BS. But it is happening guaranteed. Some people have even reported getting attitude about it from employees due to being persistent, then "magically" some ammo appears after a manager is called upon. Imagine that. the HIDDEN Place is usually under the counter behind the 'knife' display... From just a FEW pages ago(Page 268) Quoted:

I think there is a scarcity on ammo at the moment. My local Gander mtn and Walmart haven't had anything, .223 or pistol caliber in over a month. However, on AR rifles, I see things getting better. While they were nonexistent at the local gun shops a month ago, there is now a rack full at my local gun shop, still overpriced, but not nearly as much as they were fetching for the lone rifle they may have had three or four weeks ago. Prices on PMAGs at my local shop have dropped from $40 to $25 in the last week. Lower parts kits are staying in stock. Plenty of signs that show the market is getting better on this front. Ammo is a different story IMO. People generally get one rifle (others may get more of course. I wouldn't mind one more...or two). But individual needs on ammo vary. I prefer to keep 1000rds per firearm. Others may decide on more or less. There may be a lot of people out there still trying to fill their stockpile to 5000rds per. Who knows. Once everyone's thirst for ammo is satiated, sales will drop and prices will follow. |
